The Seven of Swords

The Lord of Futility represents the times in life where we feel too overwhelmed and doubtful to act decisively toward our problems. It will usually appear when there are difficult decisions to be made, or when situations arise that require we take action. Because we are weary, feeling over-stressed and helpless, we do nothing. As a result, of course, things inevitably get worse.

Sometimes the card will come up because we have such a poor view of ourselves. We start to believe that nothing we do could possibly make a difference to the unhappy circumstances we find ourselves in. If not challenged, this attitude will lead us into being poor-little-me's, when we adopt a victim mentality, and secretly expect everybody else to sort things out for us.

When feeling the effects of the Lord of Futility, we are often ready to make unsuitable compromises in order to try to ease the pressure we experience. We can be more easily impressed by other people's opinions, seeking to please them - often at our own expense. We vacillate, unable to stick to any decision we make. And all of this does nothing much more than increase our problems.

Neither of these options is viable, if we are to live a happy love-filled life, is it? So when this card appears in a reading for ourselves, we need to be prepared to commit ourselves to a course of action and then follow through. Even if it transpires that the choice we make could have been bettered, any choice is better than no choice at all, when the alternative is total inertia.

Often fear will be a big issue - fear of doing something wrong, fear of taking responsibility, fear of being even more hurt and feeling worse than we already do. In the end, we simply have to take our courage in both hands and, like The Fool, take that leap forward. The fact that we have acted will help us to break from of the Lord of Futility and to move on.

10 WAYS TO BE PSYCHIC NO MATTER WHAT!!!!

1. Be aware of your energy field. Awareness is the first step. You don't have to see it; simply know that it exists.

Imagine that you're sitting within a bubble of light. What does it look like? Is it bright and clear?

Uneven, have holes? Do you see colors?

You can call in the highest healing light and let it fill your aura. For instance, imagine a bright gold light coming in from three golden suns just above your head.

Notice if anything changes. The simple act of attention allows transformation. And willingness, even willingness to be willing, is empowering. Don't underrate subtlety.

2. Light Up Your Chakras. Imagine that you have primary energy portals from your root to your crown, and even above. Breathe into each one, asking or allowing it to balance and stabilize.

Don't worry about seeing or not seeing them. The act of self-attention is the key here. It's said that the body follows the commands of the mind.

3. Cut cords. Sometimes our closeness with others or desire for it creates cords of attachment between us.

Imagine cutting the cords and seeing those areas heal with light. People will come to you freely; you don't need to be tied.

4. Pray. This is concentrated attention and intention, and ultimately surrender to what healing studies have shown to be the most profound prayer: Thy will be done.

We can't carry everything on our shoulders, and our sight, no matter how psychic, is still limited.

5. Meditate, even if it's simply to stop and watch your breath, noticing how it moves on its own.

6. Slow down. Remember how people were right after 9/11? Sort of shocked out of daily concerns, and into a sense of oneness.

You could say 9/11 broke our hearts, which we felt acutely at the time. Perhaps something deeper got lost when we were advised to focus on shopping rather than feeling?

But we can choose where to put our focus. We can choose to experience oneness without having to view photos of the earth taken from space.

Slowing down means being fully present in the moment. Highly Sensitive people are urged to lie down when overwhelmed; this even eliminates the stress of dealing with gravity.

7. A broken heart is an open heart. Pain is part of life, suffering is optional. Recognize where you are. Loss of a dream, a pet, a plan...some things just break your heart.

But an open heart lets in more light and more love, and may offer a freedom of its own. (In Landmark Education, they say breakdown precedes breakthrough.)

8. Acceptance. There's an oft-quoted line from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. "And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today."

It tells us that there are no mistakes "in God's world" only in our view of how we think it should be.

Basically, what we resist persists. And we don't know where everything is leading, how we are being developed.

9. How Can I Make Myself Happy?

This one is from Dr. Colbey Forman (www.gobu.org). For Dr. Forman, our job is to enjoy our lives and fill our individual cups so that we can be there abundantly and radiantly for others.

Each moment of the day he asks himself, what can I do to make Colbey happy now? And then he takes the action and decides if it worked.

Since we are naturally meant to give and receive from others, making ourselves happy might include volunteering, for example. (Studies have consistently shown that giving service is one of the best ways out of pain.)

Or, it could be a hot mineral bath. A walk in nature, playing or listening to music. Moment-by-moment means we're not done. We're in process.

10. Ask the universe empowering questions. Tony Robbins asks the Universe: How can I do what I need to do and have it be fun?

Every question we ask is answered. Are we listening or do we think we already know? Perhaps the willingness to attend to ourselves, to be with not knowing, ultimately leads to transformed awareness.

Please feel free to share what you do to strengthen and sustain yourself. I certainly could have added more steps to this list but I decided to create a beginning.

Ive gone and purchased the THOTH tarot deck and can I just say that it is absolutley AMAZING!! As I am writing thins my body is tingling. The readings have been so accurate I can't believe it !Not in my wildest dreams would I have imagined such a powerful deck. Images jump off of the cards and show them selves to me in plain form. I of course recommend this deck for the advanced reader as it really enhances our skills. Just worked a Halloween party at St. John's University that went extremely well. Looking to work on Halloween for French Tuesdays I know that will be amazing as well.

running out of images for the site. I just did a reading for myself today on where I am supposed to be. I got The Empress, The World, and Death. Any takers?? I just had the world card staring at me as I know as the middle card this is the one i need to be paying attention to. I want to move really really bad but there is someone stopping me and it's me. I have so many excuses as to why i can't leave the top one being money. Not only is it crippling me it is to the point where I am just saying I am job hunting but that extent goes thru craigslist, and that's it. No commitment, no passion, no energy. I say that New York doesn't inspire me but that is so not true as I just hung out with one of the coolest guys ( from japan) who literally inspires himself. He wears splatter paint leggings, and technicolor fanny packs along with early 90's puffy paint running shirts and neon green pump sneakers. AMAZING!!! We walk the streets and get a combination of love to hate of his style. He says it's all an obsession that people have in which they must say something or react to anything that os out of the norm. Soooooo true. Sometimes i feel like on of those lone pioneers ready to break out and do something totally crazy but then the lack of money and pile of debt I am in brings me back to some type of reality. Damn!

First and foremost i thought am I so concentrated on money that I am only attached to the material aspect of it? i have been a bit of slump lately because i am not sure which way is up and why things are moving as quickly as i want them to. Money wise i have to be very thankful that i have a job. Money is coming but not as much and as quickly as I am used to. I am finding it hard to even save as i took a cut in money yet i feel like i am working harder. Trying not to get stuck in the rut i am envisioning myself out side of this vicious cycle. The four of pentacles calls for a call to stabilize the finances you have however don't get tied the final result. Have renovations on the home driven you crazy? This card calls to not spend another penny and reevaluate. Make sure you know exactly where your money is going and whether the room improvemnts are a neede thing or just to show off. If it is the latter of the two rethink your plan.

This card was actually pulled from the new deck i purchased this weekend called " Tarot of Dreams" by Ciro Marchetti. The cards are beautiful and I am so glad I am able to share it with each one of you. In most other decks this card has been noted as the Heirophant and the number 5. This card however gives me anew spin on things. I always thought what I believe in is what will me thru those tough times in my life. Things happen but one thing I do know is that I have been physically attracting what I want in my life. I have the FAITH that whatever I want in this lifetime is attainable. what an amazing weekend!! I was holed up in NJ but no worries it was to totally immerse myself in the world of tarot. I met readers from all over the world including Canada, Germany, England and even South Africa!! My reading skills have been increased ten fold and now i have a advanced certificate to prove it ! In the true fashion of a fashionista of course i pulled the Kate Winslet tarot card for Strength. This card is all about inner strength and harnessing the fire within you. Whenever I pull this card for a client I am always drawn to the lemiscate above her head. In some decks it represents infitine power. I see it is one that must be controlled and harnessed in order to realize it's true potential. Don't let those extremes get in the way. If you do that lemiscate could resemble a rollercoaster of emotions. As I am writing this blog I am giving my cat (male) Fred the biggest belly rubdown he could think of. He reminds me of the lion in this picture full of energy, strong proud, roars (alright meows) alot but knows when to succumb to his mother (aka the one who feeds him). That is what this card is all about.

Listen to the horns they are signaling you to "wake up !" The time is now everyone!! Star the day anew but awake from your long slumber. For the longest time i had the most difficulty with this card but all of a sudden it calls to me. Look at the flag attached to the horn. Who can tell me which country that is attached to?? I love cats so much and thought this card was so cute. The felines on the bottom of the card have heard their cry; they are reaching off to take the opportunity. For those of you who have been sleeping on the goals and dreams you have in your life now is the time to be revitalized. It is possible. You just have to take the first step. Do it now!!! Card of the day: The Hermit

The Hermit card also known as the Seeker. Whenever I look at this card I think of an old soul one that is very spiritual yet choses to follow their path alone. Alone when many people hear the word hermit their first reaction is "But I have friends!!" Yes I know... however you HIGHLY respect your space and time alone from everyone. The seeker is in constant search of quiet time, space, and anything that can calm them down. Constantly on their path they hold a trusty lantern to help illuminate the way. A trusted guide, the wise one, the guru one who give you direction. That hunch that you just know to trust comes to mind as well. Since this card follows the Moon card which was yesterdays card I say tread lightly in the valley of Darkness. The light of day has not shown it's face yet so I say be patient but not inactive. Today's beautiful card is pulled from the art of Thalia Took. I was so drawn to it and knew that this was the image for today. The Moon is all about unforseen things that are going on under the surface. You may not know what is happening or how it is happening but know that it will all come to the light very soon. If you just met someone and you just cannot get a grasp on what type of person they are sit tight for you will soon find out. One of my favorite cards!! Partly because it is one of my birthcards. The number 10 is all about taking a chance, beginner's luck, a luck of the draw... you get the drift. I was just intrigued and never put two and two together on how the game the WHEEL OF FORTUNE with Pat Sajak and Vanna White was just that. The Wheel of Fortune is this wonderful little contraption that people spin in order for people to win wonderful prizes and money. But at the luck of the draw you can become BANKRUPT in the blink of an eye. That's this card. Ride the wave of good luck as long as you can and when it runs out be glad that you had a nice streak!!

Sorry guys My computer was stuck yesterday and I could not get to my wonderful posts!! What a fitting card!! The 2 of swords. Swords of conflict as they sometimes explain or just two different issues you the querent are dealing with. This card similar to the 8 of swords except the fact that she is dressed differently. The blindfolds are still on but this time i feel like it is in the form of a protective shield. Be prepared to enter some type of struggle if you ever hope to see the light. Some sorrow might ensue but it is necessary in order to reclaim order in your life. You can also choose to stand still and not do anything at all but then you leave yourself to whatever storms ensue. Sometimes it's worse to not do anything at all then move forward.

What a card it is one of my favorites in the whole deck. This card was pulled from the Cynthia st rose deck. It evokes the feel of a Louisiana type high priestess. Marie Laveau anyone? The cards always seem to hit the right note into what is going on with me. Just last night I had a very unwelcome visit from some type of energy attached to a voodoo book from a friend of mine. She is crashing at my place for a few days and received a gift. This gift was in the form of a book called Voodoo in New Orleans Marie Laveau. She told me ever since she had this book she has had some weird things have been happening to her. She was having a lot of problems at the hospital that was supposed to be treating her. A person from her past had someone accost her on the street and over all she had lots of problems. The whole time she was dealing with all of this stuff that book was with her. So I was laying on my couch in the living room and all of a sudden I picked up this old book. It was definitely from Louisiana as there were still some bookmarks from LA in the book. All of a sudden as soon as I finish reading a part in the book I start to experience a gut wrenching pain in my solar plexus (center of my stomach) I try to clear it with some white light but it is not really working all of these weird images start appearing as this woman with a silver turban appears out of nowhere. I was definitely receiving high priestess images and I immediately connected it to that book.
I did some research and found out that my friends family is tied to Louisiana and Creole voodoo via her Father's side of the family. No wonder the book found it's way into her arms. Well I had to remove to book , do a protection exercise, and cleanse my apartment. What I do know is that Marie was known as a very powerful priestess in her heyday. Who knows if her energy was that strong that it still lingers on even today.

Sorry guys the trip to Philadelphia lasted the WHOLE day! It was magical......Here's the card I pulled however before I set out on my journey. The 4 of Swords or the Lord of Rest from strife. And boy did I sleep! On the subway, on the bus on the bus ride back etc. etc. etc. The 4 of swords let you know that it is OK to rest after you have been through some struggles or small wars in you life. The Universal Waite tarot shows a young man on a slab of concrete laying face up eyes closed. It looks like he is in the interior of a church . Please be aware he is not dead! He is merely resting and awaiting to rise again. Come to think of it yesterday was Holy Saturday. It could very well be Jesus resting in the stone coffin only to rise again the next day. Wow, I like that analogy it makes total sense. Faithful readers be prepared to rise again after much strife in your life be it family, work, love whatever. Know that you can resurrect yourself anew. Spring has Sprung! Take advantage of the new burst of energy and sunlight that has been bestowed upon us. And most of all HAPPY EASTER!!

I see the light !!! Yeah !! Today's card is so bright and cheery. I felt good pulling it. It is the card for the lord of perfected work. That's for sure. I was typing away so fast at work my co worker called me FIRE. :) I feel illuminated today. I walked myself right up to HR ( at the place I am temping) and told them I am in the creative field and would love to work with this company on a project basis in the area of model casting . I figure what I do in fashion and advertising would be a perfect union. Very 4 of wands moment! The 4 of wands is all about new unions, new projects, new energy being infused into something or someone. Is anyone getting married?? Wands energy is very energizing a good boost, a new home, a new job, a merger.

This card so hit home that I had to write a little more on the subject. It's probably because the 8 of swords can be such a difficult card. I spent half the night consoling a friend that had broken up with her boyfriend. I felt like this card was soooo relevant. She knew he wasn't the one the for her and he was was dead weight yet she continued the charade of boyfriend and girlfriend for 2 years. She has officially moved to the next card now in tarot ( 9 of swords) and just need some solace. I have been engrossed in this amazing book for the past month named Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I have had waves of inspiration, sadnedd, tears, joy and all of the above while reading this book. I would like to share an amazing part of the book where the writer is letting go of her painful divorce from her husband. She is in India and she has joined an Ashram to purify herself. A colleague led her to the top of the ashram and then left her with this note

This card is all about physically blinding or hiding from a situation that needs to see the light. Kind of like self imposed blindfolds. You know the kind that a married woman has when they know their high profile husband is cheating on them ?? Can we say Hillary Clinton?? I don't know if I would be able to bear it and do that to myself. I am very single at the moment but back in the day ( about a year ago :)) I used to think that even I was not happy and things were not exactly what I wanted in my relationship; I should stay. I mean why jeopardize a good thing?? Who cares he wasn't working s steady job for like 4 years?? Who cares he was always cursing even at times when kids where around? Who cares that the home ( the one I would eventually move into) was so old and dirty that I myself would be disgusted. How did i stay 4 years?? Heaven only knows but what I do know is I experienced that 8 of swords feeling more than once and it was not pretty.
